Full Job Description
The Southland Family Club (SFC) Pool Manager supervises swimming pool operations and all related activities in accordance with the desires of the SFC Board of Directors and membership, and in compliance with the Commonwealth of Kentucky and Warren County’s health and safety guidelines and laws. The primary function of the SFC Pool Manager is to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all individuals who utilize the swimming pool facilities through management of staff and facility.
The SFC Pool Manager coordinates and supervises the day-to-day operation of the Club including but not limited to maintain records, schedules staff, ensures proper pool maintenance, and oversees the operations of the concession stand.
- Reports directly to the Board of Directors and attends monthly board meetings.
- Responsible for safety and maintenance of the pools as well as the seasonal opening and closing of the pools. Exact open and close dates set annually by SFC Board of Directors, but minimally open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.
- Responsible for general housekeeping and physical appearance of the SFC grounds and facility. Direct cleaning of the pool and upkeep of all pool equipment and facilities, including but not limited to pool chairs, diving boards, restrooms, office, concession stand and pavilion.
- Maintain and keep all necessary records concerning pool attendance, pool chemicals, accident reports, schedules, etc.
- Balances cash receipts to recorded sales at end of each day.
- Recruits, hires, certifies, trains, schedules, and supervises pool operations staff.
- Trains, and certifies as needed, lifeguards in first aid, CPR and lifesaving skills.
- Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation if need.
- Implement weekly staff scheduling, payroll procedures and instructional leadership.
- Schedules parties, helps organize club events, and works in conjunction with the swim team to schedule swim meets, works in partnership with swim team to ensure access for practices outside pool operational hours.
- Enforces rules and regulations set by the SFC Board of Directors and any local health and safety entities.
- Monitors and maintains pool chemistry required by law.
- Demonstrates consistent visibility and availability to the membership for questions, comments, and assistance. Promptly responds to members concerns.
- Available to communicate with SFC Board of Directors, subordinates, members, vendors and any other persons or organization with whom interaction is required to accomplish work and SFC goals.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Lifeguard Certification (Red Cross).
- Able to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.
- Ability to perform some manual labor/lifting of 25 pounds.
- Must pass criminal background check.
- Ability to lead a team.
- General technology knowledge & ability.
- Punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance.
- Lifeguard: 2 years (required)
- Supervising experience: 1 year (required)
- Management: 1 year (preferred)
- Current lifeguard Certification (required)
- Lifeguard certified trainer (prefered)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.75 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
