Active Directory (AD) Administrator - Part Time

As our Active Directory (AD) Administrator, you will be responsible for managing Active Directory environments, implementing and supporting Azure solutions, and ensuring the proper configuration and setup of laptops and devices for end-users. Working collaboratively with other IT professionals this role ensures seamless identity management, system integration, and secure access to corporate resources.

Pay

$30.00 per hour.

Schedule

Part-time, 20- 25 hours per week.

Responsibilities of an Active Directory Administrator
  • Create, modify, and delete user accounts, security groups, and organizational units (OUs) in Active Directory.
  • Configure and manage Group Policy Objects (GPOs) to control user and computer settings across the network.
  • Manage and maintain Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), including replication, trust relationships, and DNS configuration.
  • Configure and manage AD replication, sites, and subnets to optimize network traffic and authentication performance.
  • Implement and manage backup strategies for Active Directory, including AD disaster recovery and restoration procedures.
  • Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) Management
  • Manage Azure AD for integration with Office 365 services, including email, file sharing, and collaboration tools.
  • User and Identity Management: Administer Azure AD users, groups, and devices. Create, modify, and delete user accounts in Azure AD.
  • Implement and configure SSO for cloud applications (e.g., Office 365, Salesforce, etc.) to allow users to authenticate using Azure AD credentials.
  • Administer and maintain Azure AD Connect for synchronizing on-premises Active Directory with Azure AD to ensure consistent identity management across cloud and on-premises environments.
  • Oversee hybrid identity scenarios, such as enabling users to have seamless access to both on-premises and cloud-based resources.
Qualifications of an Active Directory Administrator

Education and Experience
  • Associate’s degree in information technology (IT)
  • 3-4 Years Proven experience managing Active Directory (Windows Server 2016/2019/2022) and Azure Active Directory.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure services such as Azure AD, MFA, SSO, and conditional access.
  • Proficient in PowerShell scripting for Active Directory automation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune or similar MDM solutions for device management and configuration
Licensure/Certifications
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
  • Solid understanding of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and laptop configuration.
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory (AD DS, AD LDS, GPOs, etc.) and Azure AD concepts.
  • Experience with identity management tools and processes.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for both Active Directory and Azure environments.
  • Knowledge of security principles and tools (MFA, RBAC, PIM, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cloud-based identity solutions, particularly within Microsoft Azure.
  • Knowledge of security protocols such as TLS, VPN, encryption, and multi-factor authentication.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
