We are seeking a dedicated Café Manager / Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team! In this role, you'll ensure an exceptional customer experience, consistent food and beverage quality, and smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Supervision: Oversee all Front of House (FOH) positions, including Baristas, Cashiers, Bakery/Expo, and Support staff.
- Operational Excellence: Manage opening and closing procedures, monitor staff productivity, and ensure adherence to company policies.
- POS System Management: Handle all functions of Square/POS, including programming, troubleshooting, processing refunds, and transaction reviews.
- Food & Beverage Oversight: Insure consistent preparation and presentation of all menu items and specials.
- Customer Engagement: Foster a welcoming environment through excellent guest interactions and service.
Leadership Duties:
- Assist with hiring, training, and mentoring FOH staff according to Southold General standards.
- Support staff scheduling to optimize efficiency and coverage.
- Provide constructive feedback on customer requests, menu development, and staff performance.
- Set the standard for exceptional customer service, demonstrating professionalism, patience, and a solution-oriented mindset.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Manage cash handling and register close-out procedures.
- Assist with ordering and inventory management of supplies, food, and retail items.
- Ensure proper phone etiquette and adherence to company communication policies.
Qualifications:
- Proven leadership and time management skills in a hospitality environment.
- Previous cafe management 1-2 years
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations.
- Proficiency in using POS systems, especially Square.
- Cash handling experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
- **Required:** Valid, up-to-date Food Handler's License/Certification.
