What are the responsibilities and job description for the Day Shift Clean-up position at Southport Forest Products?
This position reports to a production supervisor in their area and may take assignments from production leads. The Clean-Up position is responsible for maintaining mill cleanliness and safety. This includes cleaning up debris, sawdust, and other waste materials from the production area. Additional duties include assisting with equipment maintenance and supporting overall operations to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. This position also operates various machines as business need dictates.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: No experience is necessary. Experience as a laborer or in an industrial setting is a plus. Some consistent work history is desired.
- Skills: Strong work ethic and reliability. Good communication skills. Willingness to work flexible hours. High level of adaptability.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. often.
- Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching continuously.
- Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and noisy environments.
