Reports to: Physician - Dr. Khalid Mohammed (Interventional Cardiologist)

About Dr. Mohammed:
Dr. Khalid Mohammed is an Interventional Cardiologist who believes not only in high quality patient care/success, but also fostering a fun and enjoyable work environment.
He is board certified in Interventional Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, Cardiac CT, and Vascular.
He lived half his life in Detroit and Tampa making him both a Lions and a Bucs fan (if you are an Ohio State fan this may not work out). He is proficient at diagnosing & treating cardiovascular disease and performing a multitude of interventional cardiovascular procedures, including, but not limited to:
- Coronary - simple & complex coronary interventions
- Shock - mechanical circulatory support, Impella, ECMO
- Peripheral arterial - upper/lower extremities, carotid, renal, mesenteric, aortic aneurysms, renal denervation
- Peripheral venous - DVT, PE, May Thurner, superficial veins
- Structural - TAVR, PFO/ASD/VSD closures, LAA occluders
- EP - loop recorders, permanent pacemakers including leadless devices
Position Overview:
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to provide high-quality cardiovascular care to our patients. This primarily office-based position with one of our interventional cardiologists at all 4 of our clinic locations in the Tampa Bay area (as above) depending on the day. Offers the opportunity to work with a collaborative team in a supportive and fast-paced environment. The role will also include occasional hospital shifts on weekdays and 1 in 4 weekends depending on the needs to assist with patient care during admissions and other cardiovascular-related procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient assessments, including medical histories and physical exams
- Diagnose and manage cardiovascular conditions, including hypertension, heart disease, arrhythmias; the interventional cardiologist performs a wide variety of procedures ranging from simple to complex high risk cases (coronary, peripheral, structural, EP) and must be comfortable in assessing a broad scope of patients, follow-ups, and procedural indications/assessments/scheduling.
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with our expert physicians
- Perform patient education on lifestyle changes, medication management, and preventive heart health
- Review and interpret diagnostic tests, including ECGs, stress tests, and echocardiograms
- Provide follow-up care and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Participate in hospital shifts as needed to support in-patient care
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner)
- Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of Florida.
- Certification in Cardiovascular Nursing or Cardiology (preferred but not required)
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in cardiology or a related field
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular diseases and their management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with EMR systems
