Full Time Third Grade Teacher

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced teacher to teach third grade. Salary range is determined by years of teaching experience starting at $36,000. GENERAL SUMMARY
Each teacher shall be responsible for all organization, teaching, and supervision within the area of his/her assigned responsibility. The teacher shall prayerfully help students develop attitudes and skills in their subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians to the praise and glory of God.
The teacher shall be a born-again Christian, college graduate and certified Washington State teacher. Other qualifications may be added by the administration as deemed appropriate.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The teacher will:
- Hold (or be in process of obtaining) a valid Washington State Teaching certificate.
- Reflect the purpose of the school which is to honor Christ in every class and in every activity.
- Motivate students to accept God's gift of salvation and help them grow in their faith through their witness and Christian role modeling.
- Lead students to a realization of their self-worth in Christ.
- Cooperate with the school board and administration in implementing all policies, procedures, and directives governing the operation of the school.
- Teach classes as assigned following prescribed scope and sequence as scheduled by School Administration.
- Help plan and carry out field trips to enhance student learning (including multi-day trips).
- Integrate Christ-centered principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and activities.
- Build positive relationships with students so they know they are cared for as individuals.
- Keep excellent classroom management skills so all students have the opportunity to learn.
- Maintain a clean, attractive, well-ordered classroom.
- Plan broadly through the use of trimester plans and objectives.
- Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students, challenging each to do his/her best work and to use critical thinking skills.
- Utilize valid teaching techniques to achieve curriculum goals within the framework of the school's philosophy.
- Employ a variety of instructional aids, methods, and materials that will provide for creative and differentiated teaching to reach the whole child: spiritual, mental, physical, social, and emotional.
- Assess the learning of students on a regular basis and through a variety of ways, both formative and summative, and provide progress reports as required.
- Maintain regular and accurate attendance and grade records.
- Keep students, parents, and the administration adequately informed of progress or deficiencies and give sufficient notice of failure.
- Represent the school in a favorable and professional manner to the school's constituency and the general public.
- Develop and maintain rapport with students, parents, and staff by treating others with friendliness, dignity, and consideration.
- Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with students, parents, staff and administration.
- Seek the counsel of the administration, colleagues, and parents while maintaining a teachable attitude.
- Attend and participate in scheduled staff meetings, in-services, retreats, committee, faculty and parent/teacher meetings and events.
- Know emergency procedures (including an active CPR/First Aid certification). REQUIRED PERSONAL QUALITIES The teacher will:
- Have received Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior.
- Believe that the Bible is God's Word and the standard for faith and daily living.
- Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech and actions toward others.
- Show by example the importance of Bible study and memorization, prayer, witnessing, and unity in the Body of Christ.
- Be in whole-hearted agreement with the school's Statement of Faith and Christian philosophy of education.
- Have the spiritual maturity, academic ability, and personal leadership qualities to "train up a child in the way he should go." Proverbs 22:6 ADDITIONAL PERSONAL QUALITIES The teacher will:
- Recognize the role of parents as primarily responsible before God for their children's education and be prepared to assist them in that task.
- Demonstrate the character qualities of enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance, and punctuality.

- Maintain a personal appearance that reflects a Christian example of cleanliness, modesty, good taste, and is in agreement with school policy.
