About the Role
As a Dental Assistant Apprentice, you will provide essential chair-side support to our dentists, hygienists, and other healthcare providers, ensuring high-quality patient care and exceptional service. You will assist in performing dental procedures, managing patient care, maintaining infection control, and supporting daily operations in the dental clinic. This apprenticeship allows you to grow and develop your skills while working toward completing the MNACHC Dental Assistant Apprenticeship Program.

Position Details and Benefits
This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position with a starting pay rate of $18 / hour , with an increase to $19.50 at 6 months and $23 upon completion (1 year) with a $1,500 retention bonus payable in 3 equal installments over 18 months after completing the program.

Work Environment
This position is based in a professional dental clinic environment, requiring active engagement with patients, providers, and staff. The role involves frequent movement within the clinic to room patients, perform tasks, and retrieve items. Standard office equipment, dental instruments, and computer systems are regularly utilized, with an emphasis on performing four-handed dentistry. The position requires physical mobility, including lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds over short distances, and occasionally assisting patients onto or off exam chairs.
The work environment may also require maintaining a stationary position for certain tasks and ascending / descending stairs to retrieve materials. Additionally, the role involves working with chemicals commonly used in dental procedures, with occasional exposure to nitrous oxide and radiation from x-ray equipment. The ability to recognize and respond to signs of oral health concerns or alcohol impairment through sensory observation is also required.
