POSITION TITLE:         Southside Classroom Paraprofessional 

QUALIFICATIONS:      

• High school diploma
• At least one (1) of the following:
  1. Two (2) years of college credit;
  2. An associate’s degree (or higher);
  3. Provide evidence of passing the Arkansas State Board of Education adopted Praxis Paraprofessional Assessment
• Highly motivated with strong organizational skills, able to coordinate multiple tasks at one time.
• Self-starter, able to work independently.

REPORTS TO:  Principal

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  185 days with benefits provided according to Siloam Springs School Board policies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Assisting students in achieving academic and social success.
• Collaborating with building leaders, coaches, and teachers
• Help students by providing academic support.
• Help students develop problem-solving skills.
• Monitor student progress and maintain documentation.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and other staff.
• Maintain positive communication with students and families.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Support classroom instruction.
• Support development of literacy skills.
• Support development of math skills.
• Support and promote the district’s mission, vision and values.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:   

• Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
• Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
