POSITION TITLE: Southside Classroom Paraprofessional
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma
- At least one (1) of the following:
- Two (2) years of college credit;
- An associate’s degree (or higher);
- Provide evidence of passing the Arkansas State Board of Education adopted Praxis Paraprofessional Assessment
- Highly motivated with strong organizational skills, able to coordinate multiple tasks at one time.
- Self-starter, able to work independently.
REPORTS TO: Principal
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 185 days with benefits provided according to Siloam Springs School Board policies.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assisting students in achieving academic and social success.
- Collaborating with building leaders, coaches, and teachers
- Help students by providing academic support.
- Help students develop problem-solving skills.
- Monitor student progress and maintain documentation.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and other staff.
- Maintain positive communication with students and families.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Support classroom instruction.
- Support development of literacy skills.
- Support development of math skills.
- Support and promote the district’s mission, vision and values.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
- Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
