Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our interventional pain team. The NP will work alongside board-certified pain management physicians and support staff to deliver high-quality care focused on diagnostic evaluations, interventional treatments, medication management, and patient education. Key Responsibilities- Patient Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of new and existing patients, including reviewing medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering/assessing diagnostic tests.
- Treatment Planning: Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the supervising physician, focusing on interventional procedures (e.g., injections, nerve blocks, ablations) and overall pain management strategies.
- Medication Management: Prescribe and/or manage pain medications, ensuring patient safety and adherence to relevant regulations and guidelines **Prescriptive authority and DEA license is not mandatory for this position**
- Patient Education & Counseling: Provide guidance on pain management techniques, lifestyle modifications, and follow-up care. Offer patient-centered education to empower individuals and their families.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to maintain efficient, high-quality patient care. Communicate patient progress and needs effectively within the team.
- Record Keeping & Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with clinic policies and regulatory standards.
- Continuous Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, stay abreast of the latest developments in pain management, and contribute to the practice’s ongoing enhancement of patient care.
- Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Certification & Licensure: Current Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in AL (or eligibility to obtain).
- Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology NP (AGNP) preferred.
- DEA license a plus but not required
- Experience: Prior experience in interventional pain management, anesthesiology, neurology, orthopedics, or a related specialty is highly desired.
- New graduates with a strong interest in pain management and relevant clinical rotations will also be considered.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and familiarity with common pain management procedures is an asset.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities. Empathy, patience, and a commitment to patient advocacy are essential.
