Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing a team to perform high-quality maintenance services on residential and commercial properties. Responsibilities include overseeing mowing, weeding, line trimming, and equipment use while ensuring efficiency, safety compliance, and adherence to company standards and budgets.


Responsibilities

Typical job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Communicate with Operation Managers regarding service timelines, quality control, or any issues impacting efficiency. Oversee and coordinate daily maintenance operations by assigning tasks, monitoring crew performance, and adjusting schedules as needed.
  • Ensure daily administrative tasks (i.e. inventory tracking, time entry, DOT pre-trip, etc.) are completed promptly and accurately.
  • Assign tasks to crew members based on their skill level and the weekly service requirements. Monitor crew performance and address any issues regarding quality or productivity.
  • Know all company procedures, safety, and personnel policies and ensure crew adheres to policies.
  • Lead and mentor crew members by providing hands-on training in maintenance techniques and horticultural best practices to ensure high quality work and adherence to company standards.
  • Make recommendations to Operation Mangers to improve efficiency and quality standards to ensure crew is performing as efficiently as possible.
  • Monitor and perform basic mower and equipment maintenance. Report any necessary repairs to the Operations Manager or Mechanic team.
  • Ensure work area is kept clean and organized, maintain a clean truck/trailer and uniform. Maintain and properly store landscaping equipment.
    • Perform seasonal snow and ice removal tasks during winter months. Plowing, shoveling, salt applications, and various other duties as assigned. Supervise or manage areas/zones as desired with direction from snow management team.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, with responsibilities and tasks subject to change as needed.

Education

High School Diploma, College Degree or Certificate in Horticulture, landscaping or related field is preferred but not necessary. Minimum of 3 year landscape experience.

Experience

Minimum 3 years of experience as a Supervisor in Landscape Industry with experience in landscape maintenance, including mowing, edging, line trimming, shearing, and backpack blowing. Must have prior experience in operating equipment. Strong ability to lead and motivate a team, delegate tasks, and provide effective feedback. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Time management skills. Chemical applicator license preferred. Creative problem solving, organization skills. Must have a valid driver’s license, and an insurable driving record. Bilingual -Spanish a plus.

Other

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift/carry materials up to 50lbs on a regular and consistent basis, move about the work site. Requires extended periods of activity including, walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting, up to 100% of a workday. Time in the field-100% of time.

Working Environment: Employee is frequently exposed to exterior elements (i.e. pollen, chemicals, cold and heat etc.). Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
