Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Person to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and systems. This role requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various components while providing excellent customer service. The Maintenance Person will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and efficient environment for both staff and clients.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, etc.) are operating efficiently.
- Schedule and supervise regular inspections and preventive maintenance.
- Identify and address maintenance issues promptly.
- Coordinate and supervise external service providers (cleaning, landscaping, security, etc.).
- Obtain and review bids, negotiate contracts, and ensure quality work is delivered.
- Receive, prioritize, and resolve maintenance requests from office tenants or staff.
- Maintain detailed records of work orders, repairs, and maintenance logs.
- Perform routine cleaning of parking areas, including trash removal and debris pickup.
- Maintain cleanliness of walkways, entryways, and loading zones.
- Perform basic lawn care tasks such as weeding, mulching, trimming, and seasonal yard cleanup.
- Coordinate snow removal and de-icing as needed in winter months
- Assist in the preparation and management of maintenance budgets.
- Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies and reorder as needed.
- Ensure all maintenance operations follow safety protocols and comply with local codes.
- Maintain up-to-date safety certifications and inspection records.
- Respond to facility-related emergencies such as power outages, flooding, or HVAC failures.
- Be on-call for urgent after-hours issues.
- Assist with office space planning, renovations, or relocation efforts.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Basic carpentry, painting, and repair skills.
- Strong ability to maintain equipment and perform necessary repairs effectively.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various physical conditions.
- Willingness to be on-call for emergencies or after-hours maintenance issues.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
