What are the responsibilities and job description for the Phlebotomist (Outpatient Clinic Setting, M-F Days) position at Southview Medical Group Pc?
Phlebotomists are a vital part of the overall care process that patients receive while visiting our practice.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Greeting patients as they arrive for diagnostic testing, verification of patient identity, obtaining biological specimens from patients, completing appropriate clerical duties via Electronic Health Record System and Lab Ordering System, assisting patients around the facility, stocking and maintaining current inventory or supplies, providing coverage as needed at the Lab Receptionist Desk, and other duties as assigned by Management.
Our current opening is for our Phlebotomy area which manages the function of blood and urine specimen collections. Volume is typically between 500 and 600 patients per day split between 7 Phlebotomists. Work hours will vary slightly based on daily schedules, but will typically be between 9:00AM until 5:30PM. Work days are Monday through Friday.
Southview requires a High School Diploma/GED for this position. Previous Phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced office is required. Experience working in diagnostics is strongly preferred. Due to the high volume usage of Electronic Health Records and Electronic Practice Management systems, it is required that Phlebotomists have a strong background utilizing computers in a working environment.
