Job Summary
- Serves as a trusted advisor with expert knowledge of risk identification and mitigation. Partners with the business and audit teams to ensure compliance with various compliance programs administered by the Controller organization (i.e. Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Payroll Support Program (PSP), Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), Department of Transportation (DOT)). Shares with the business best and emerging practices related to risk and controls and delivers meaningful insights and recommendations to influence decisions. Stays aware of emerging trends that could lead to streamlining and automating control activities to increase risk mitigation and lower the effort associated with compliance.

Responsibilities
- Guide on controls within complex business and IT processes to mitigate financial statement risk
- Provide expertise and guidance on financial, IT, and fraud risks and internal controls for enterprise wide projects. Is instrumental in promoting awareness of internal control requirements and best practice.
- Utilize knowledge of multiple compliance programs (i.e. Sarbanes- Oxley Act of 2002) to conduct research on new and emerging compliance standards and mandates, impacting financial statements, to determine if changes are required to existing compliance programs and/or if compliance processes need to be designed for new compliance programs
- Support complex business and IT processes and oversee Management’s completion of certification sign offs to ensure timely compliance with compliance certification, e.g. SOX and PSP
- Partners with the business to evaluate the impact of process and/or technology changes to internal controls. Updates controls and communicates changes to audit teams timely to ensure internal control inventory is current
- Use industry framework as the benchmark and evaluate the Company’s internal control activities to ensure alignment the framework
- Operate as a trusted advisor and serves as an expert to the business and auditors to design or update controls, as needed, to mitigate risk

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Expert knowledge of GAAP, financial regulatory requirements, and the COSO framework
- Advanced knowledge in distilling very complex and detailed information into easily understood and actionable recommendations
- Advanced knowledge in solving complex and unclear issues beyond direct area of responsibility
- Advanced knowledge in partnering and communication skills in order to facilitate interactions with Customers
- Advanced knowledge of audit best practices and ability to serve as a liaison between the business and audit teams
- Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong, communicating the problem, and providing recommendations for proposed solutions
- Ability to involve the right people at the right time to drive timely and effective decision making
- Ability to build trust with all levels of Employees up to and including functional Leaders, including ability to properly manage highly sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to demonstrate executive presence in front of all levels of management and represent the department at cross-functional meetings
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Expert level experience, expansive and far reaching knowledge in:
- Control design and analysis, large cross-functional projects, system implementation review, and risk assessment
- Multiple and complex financial, business, and IT processes

Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from limited space workstation/desk/office area for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines

Pay & Benefits
Competitive market salary from $122,200.00-135,800.00 per year* depending on qualifications and experience, with opportunity for future pay increases based on performance and market movement. For eligible leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
