Description
The Wire Specialist is responsible for taking wire transfer instructions and processing them accurately, performing call backs to customers for outgoing wire transfers, and processing incoming wire transfers.
Daily Duties:
- Prepares and verifies outgoing wire transfers, meeting all deadlines and adhering to all policies and procedures; ensures accuracy and a proper paper trail of all transactions.
- Working in multiple system queues, research, repairs, and processes all incoming and outgoing wires that do not process straight through, thus requiring manual intervention.
- Provides email-based and phone-based support to all branches and affiliate banks here service or assistance is needed as it relates to wire transfers.
- Follows controls in place to protect against fraudulent wire activity and unnecessary risk and exposure.
- Assist with New or Revised Wire Transfer Agreements.
- Reviews Wire Transfer OFAC screening results and makes determinations as to validity of all identified matches.
- Performs End of Day balancing of Wire Department systems, such as reconciliation of wire logs with entries, and including, but not limited to, Federal Reserve Summary Statement to daily wire activity.
- Process all disputes for Debit Cards, ACH and Checks.
- Monitor items in Numonitor, our Fraud Tracking system.
- Backup for Mobile Deposit review.
- Backup for CDARS/ICS sweeps.
- Perform other duties as may be required.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or its equivalent
- Two to three years account opening experience in a bank preferred
- Skills should include typing, PC, Outlook, knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and ability to operate standard office equipment
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication and listening skills required
- Must be able to multiple requests and deadlines with constant interruptions
