What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physician - Hematology/Medical Oncology position at Southwest Cancer Care?
Hematologist/Oncologist
If any of the following resonate with you, this could be the perfect opportunity:
- The ability to make independent decisions about patient care
- Freedom from strong corporate oversight by large hospital systems
- A collaborative environment where you work closely with just one other medical oncologist/hematologist to determine the best patient care approach—without layers of approvals
- Extensive office support, including scribes and clinical navigators and medical assistants, allowing you to focus more on patient care and less on administrative tasks
Southwest Cancer Care is seeking a Fellowship-Trained, Board-Certified, or Board-Eligible Hematologist/Medical Oncologist to join our patient-centered facility in Sierra Vista, Southern Arizona. Our community offers the perfect mix of scenic beauty, outdoor recreation, and affordability. With a high-desert climate, temperate weather, and easy access to mountain trails, it’s an ideal place to live and work.
Join an independent, physician-owned practice that prioritizes exceptional patient care by integrating advanced medical technology—without the constraints of a large institution. Our strong reputation is built on personalized care and meaningful patient relationships, with ample time provided for office visits to ensure both patient and provider satisfaction.
As a Hematologist/Medical Oncologist, your primary role will be delivering high-quality outpatient care and minimal, shared inpatient consultations. The scope of practice includes general adult oncology and both benign and malignant hematology. We use iKnowMed Generation 2 EMR, consistently rated the top outpatient oncology EMR and provide full access to UpToDate for clinical reference.
