Summary of Position

This position is responsible for supporting the Admissions department with ensuring online program applicants are supported as they apply, interview, and enroll at Sonoran University. This position will work independently using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software to complete the responsibilities of their position as well as work collaboratively with others on the processing of application records and producing a complete student file. This individual will have opportunities to engage with applicants and prospective students over the phone, video calls, and in person. This is an ideal position for an individual looking to gain valuable experience in admissions operations, who enjoys a variety of responsibilities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and a focus on efficiency, supporting applicants as they pursue their educational goals, and wishes to develop or utilize their CRM skills and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Acquires and demonstrates a thorough knowledge of Sonoran University's mission, degree programs, admission policy, and application procedures.
  • Maintains a positive work environment by conducting oneself in a manner that is conducive to promoting an atmosphere of cooperation with students, peers, faculty, partners, and administration and in a way that aligns with our core values.
  • Communicates effectively and disseminates information, in a timely manner, to ensure a positive online admissions application process for students, staff, and partners.
  • Verifies the accuracy, validity, and the completion of prospective student application records and affiliated documents within CRM software.
  • Prepares applicant files for Admissions Committee review, including coordinating and scheduling interviews on behalf of applicants, admissions staff and affiliated partners.
  • Oversees the prospective student admission decision and onboarding process for online students. This includes application status updating, auditing application files, and collaborating with various departments to ensure a complete student file is produced and provided to the Registrar office upon matriculation of an applicant.
  • Compiles, verifies, updates, and interprets admissions reports and distributes reports to the appropriate stakeholders. Work with admissions management and partners to ensure adherence to admission policies, procedures, regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Occasionally assists with cultivating the student prospect pool for all programs with outreach, and support for on campus events or other activities as assigned by the Admissions Director. This includes tracking outreach and engagement activities within CRM software. An occasional weekend or evening may be required.
  • Attends regularly scheduled Admission Staff meetings and other appropriate meetings as required
  • Other duties as required to support identified role and responsibilities.
  • Experience Required

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of recruiting and admitting students
  • Proficiency in professional oral and written communication
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite of Products and CRM technology
  • Effectively works with cross-functional teams
  • Highly skilled in data entry with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
  • Effectively plans and allocates time to complete multiple tasks within deadlines.
  • Education Requirements

    Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

    In education, business administration, technology or other related field.

    Working Environment

    Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extensive periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse. Required to stand for varying lengths of time and walk moderate distances to perform work. An occasional weekend or evening event may be required.
