Southwest Colorado Community Corrections Center - Hilltop House has a long history of supporting offenders transitioning through the criminal justice system in Durango. We are a 54 bed residential facility and offer on-site substance abuse testing and case management services to residents and clients in the community. Hilltop House is seeking full time and part-time Corrections Technicians. Starting Pay is $18 per hour and 5% shift differential pay for working overnight shifts. The shift we are hiring for is primarily evening and overnight shifts. The shift times are 7:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. For each shift, staff are eligible for one free meal per shift--and our kitchen team is fabulous!
The Correction Technician's role provides for the care, custody and monitoring of residents and establishes a safe environment for staff, visitors and clientele.
Basic Job responsibilities:
* Perform observed urinalysis on clients
* Basic Computer skills, writing reports and other documentation, answering phones, and transferring calls
* Facility and individual searches
* Phone verifications/monitoring of clients
* Interacting with clients and the public. Customer service skills a must.
* Miscellaneous tasks required to run a 24/7 facility.
Requirements:
* Must have High School Diploma/GED and at least be 21 years of age and be able to pass a background check and drug test.
* Must not be on any kind of supervision for a criminal charge.
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and/or in writing and apply problem solving techniques.
* Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays
* Have an open and flexible schedule
* Positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills.
