About the Role:
In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the company owners . You’ll oversee financial planning and analysis, manage all accounting functions, and help guide key business decisions. We're looking for someone who can be both proactive and detail-oriented, managing projects and contributing to the strategic financial direction of the company. While initially, you may need to dedicate extra time to streamline our financial systems and processes, we value a self-starter who can enhance efficiency and bring innovation to our financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Planning: Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements, balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and cash flow reports for construction projects.
- Budgeting & Job Costing: Monitor job costing for construction projects, manage and forecast annual budgets, and ensure cost adherence across the business.
- Cash Flow & Financial Analysis: Manage cash flow to ensure liquidity and oversee financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Implement and maintain internal financial controls to ensure compliance with regulations and industry best practices.
- Process Improvement: Streamline and improve accounting systems and financial processes, with a focus on increasing efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Proven bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving and project management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work closely with both internal teams and external partners.
- Experience with setting up or improving accounting systems is a plus.
- Construction industry experience and a strong understanding of job costing, financial reporting, and project management are essential.
- Experience using financial software such as Procore, Builder trend, or QuickBooks is beneficial.
