Role Description
This is a full-time, seasonal role for a Youth Program Crew Leader at SCC's Los Valles location in Salida, CO. The Youth Program Crew Leader will be responsible for leading crews of 7 members ages 15 - 18, building cohesion, facilitating group discussion, and conducting conservation projects. The Youth Program Crew Leader will ensure project completion, quality work standards, and the safety and wellbeing of crew members. This role involves camping for multiple days and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Qualifications
- Leadership and Team Management skills
- Knowledge of outdoor and/or conservation work
- Experience working with youth, preferably ages 15 - 18
- Wilderness First Responder certification
- Ability to work outdoors in challenging weather conditions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a group setting
- High School Diploma or GED Certificate
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus
