Position Summary
The Service Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the reliable operation of electrical systems for commercial clients. By providing 24/7 service and adhering to safety standards, this position is essential for maintaining customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responds promptly to emergency calls and service requests to address electrical issues, ensuring quick resolution to minimize downtime for customers.
- Communicates effectively with customers, supervisors, and team members to ensure clear understanding of issues, timely completion of work, and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Estimates material and labor costs for electrical projects and repairs, providing accurate quotes to customers and management.
- Replaces or repairs faulty electrical components, including switches, outlets, circuit breakers, and other related equipment.
- Diagnoses electrical problems by identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions to restore functionality.
- Tests electrical systems and components for functionality, safety, and compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Installs, repairs, and maintains electrical systems, equipment, and components, including wiring, fixtures, and appliances, ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.
- Maintains accurate records of service calls, repairs performed, and materials used, ensuring proper documentation for future reference and compliance.
- Works collaboratively with other tradespeople and contractors to coordinate electrical work as part of larger projects or repairs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Trade/Technical/Business School required; completion of an apprenticeship in electrical work is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Journeyman or Master Electrician.
- Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician’s license and any required certifications for emergency electrical work.
- Proven experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, particularly in emergency situations.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to quickly diagnose electrical issues and implement effective solutions under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in various environments.
- Comfortable working in a rapid growth environment and adapting to changing priorities.
