What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Librarian position at Southwest Elementary?
Dexter R-XI School is seeking a certified librarian for the 2025-2026 school year. This position will serve Southwest Elementary, which is our Pre-K-2 building.
The applicant should be able to perform the following duties: Providing support to the instructional program with specific responsibilities for performing clerical functions related to collection, processing, circulation, maintenance, and inventory of library materials and/or textbooks, documenting losses and monitoring procedures; implementing age appropriate programs for students utilizing library resources; selecting appropriate items in support of classroom instruction; and instructing students on the proper use of the library resource.
Starting teacher pay is $40,000, and salary is based upon years of experience and education. Additional information about the district can be found at www.dexter.k12.mo.us. This is a 178-day contracted position with employee Board-paid insurance and benefits.
