What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Project Manager / Licensed Project Engineer (P.E.) position at Southwest Engineers, Inc.?
Job Description : This role is exempt from minimum wage and / or overtime.
A Senior Project Engineer will have extensive experience with civil engineering and will be able to effectively communicate that experience to a team of younger P.E.s, E.I.T.s, designers, and CAD Technicians for preparation of construction plans, specifications, exhibits, reports, quantities, cost estimates, etc. for various land development projects.
Includes understanding the scope of work, estimated hours, and will be expected to take ownership of engineering design from start to finish.
Helps prepare and review engineering plans / documents to be in compliance with regulatory agencies and communicate with the team regarding project timelines and issues, and accurate maintenance of files and contracts is required.
Exercise good decision making, exhibits sound judgment and knowledge, shows responsibility of work produce and overall projects success
Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
Performs assignments in the design of commercial, single family, multi-family and mixed-use developments – including roadway, domestic water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer drainage system design.
Creates, executes, and revises project plans as appropriate to meet client needs
Prepares engineering designs and reviews deliverables prepared by the design team for engineering accuracy
Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures
Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately
Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized construction drawings and engineering reports
Understands how to communicate difficult / sensitive information tactfully
Qualifications
Minimum of Seven (7) years of licensure as a Professional Civil Engineer working in the land development industry
Strong preference will be given to candidates with 10 years of experience
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil-3D, HEC-HMS or PondPack, HEC-RAS, etc.
Ability to lead creation of designs and drawings supporting our client's overall project goals
