Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality care to patients in various settings, including outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. The Physical Therapist Assistant will play a crucial role in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals and improve their overall physical function.
Duties
- Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist, focusing on patient-centered care.
- Provide therapeutic exercises and modalities to patients with conditions such as geriatrics, orthopedics, pediatrics, and acute care.
- Monitor patient progress and report changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Support discharge planning by educating patients and families on home exercises and safety measures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments, progress notes, and medical terminology as required.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals in skilled nursing facilities and outpatient settings to ensure comprehensive care.
- Uphold a safe and clean environment for patients during therapy sessions.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting or equivalent experience.
- State licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is essential.
- Experience in geriatrics, orthopedics, outpatient therapy, pediatrics, home health, or acute care is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care while adhering to ethical standards.
- Communicate well with the RN, PT, ST, and OT respectively
