CLINICAL SPECIALIST – PHARMACY
HOURS:
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Pharmacy Clinical Specialist provides expert patient-specific pharmacotherapy and pharmaceutical care, acts as a resource to other health care professionals regarding clinical use of medications, and maintains cost-effective use of medications. The Pharmacy Clinical Specialists participates in the Pharmacy and Therapeutics committee process: evaluates requests for new drug usage and reviews current Formulary for relevance, performs therapeutic drug class reviews and drug use evaluations. The Pharmacy Clinical Specialist assists in the investigation of medication incidents and adverse drug reactions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy required.
Required length of experience:
Three (3) years hospital pharmacy experience or completion of an ASHP PGY1 residency required.
Required licensure, certification or registry:
Current licensure through the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy as a Registered Pharmacist is required.
