MENTAL HEALTH & SUBSTANCE ABUSE COUNSELOR
Oakview Behavioral Health Services offers a variety of outpatient mental health services focusing on mental health and substance use disorders in both adults and adolescents. They offer a variety of programs using Dialectical Behavioral therapy including both partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient services.
HOURS:
Full-time day and evening shifts. 9:00AM-9:00PM Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays with potential flexibility in hours. 72 hours BIWEEKLY.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The MH/SUD Counselor provides assessments, patient education and orientation, family counseling and education and patient counseling including leading group programming.
Provides insurance updates and coordinates treatment with referral sources, MCOs and employers when appropriate.
Provides consultations to patients when ordered, and reports on treatment participation and progress as authorized.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology required.
Required length of experience:
Three (3) years of experience in a substance use disorder treatment setting providing group, family and individual counseling is strongly preferred. Hospital experience is also helpful.
Required licensure, certification or registry:
Current licensure through state of Ohio as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) required, advanced licensure preferred (LISW, LPCC).
