What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician/Medication Reconciliation (Full Time) position at Southwest Health System, Inc.?
Will perform medication reconciliation per pharmacy policy for new admits to hospital departments excluding the ED. After medication reconciliation per caught up, will assist the retail pharmacy as a pharmacy tech. Assists the Pharmacist by filling physician orders for medications for oral, rectal, topical and injectable use; mixes IV admixture solutions as required using aseptic technique in the Laminar Air Flow hood; type's labels, prepares and files charge slips and performs other related duties. Performs duties under the auspices of the Pharmacist's license.
Regulatory/Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- PTCB Certification Required.
- Education in all age groups ranging from newborn to the geriatric population obtained either in school education, experience or subsequent training.
- Current BLS certification.
Language Skills:
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Additional languages preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Skills:
- Strong computer knowledge.
- Strong communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
