Requirements
- Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Proficient in word processing, email, and Microsoft Excel including the ability to create daily and monthly logs and summary reports, insert simple formulas and manipulate the design and appearance of worksheets.
- Good understanding of general accounting standards and medical terminology preferred.
- Knowledgeable of Corporate Compliance Issues as well as accounts payable processes and cycle.
Work Hours
We are seeking a full-time (40 hours/week) Accounts Payable Clerk to work in our Finance Department.
Job Summary
This position is a part of the Finance team and is responsible for oversight of the day-to-day accounts payable functions and reporting. The Accounts Payable Clerk works in conjunction with the department directors to obtain accurate coding and invoice approvals. This position also works closely with the staff accountants to ensure expenses are properly recorded.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

- Responsible for entering and posting all invoices.
- Prepares, prints, and disburses payments on a weekly basis.
- Responsible for sorting and handling associated mail.
- Works with the posting team to reconcile miscellaneous invoice payments.
- Prepares and mails invoices to external vendors.
- Attends staff meetings and in service training sessions.
- Adheres to Southwest Health’s value-based behavior standards.
- Understands and adheres to Southwest Health compliance and HIPAA standards as they appear in the Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
