Teller

Job Summary : This is an entry-level operations position that is responsible for member service. Perform limited transactional duties to serve members by receiving or paying out funds with a high degree of accuracy. Maintain accurate transactional records, providing basic cash receipts and payment services in accordance with credit union policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Build relationships and enhance member experience, respond to member requests in a friendly, helpful and positive manner.
• Process transactions in a prompt, efficient, confidential and accurate manner.
• Maintain an up-to-date comprehensive knowledge on all credit union products and services that are handled or promoted by tellers. Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all related policies and procedures, rules and regulations for the teller area, including robbery procedures.
• Promote, explain and cross-sell other credit union services such as consumer and mortgage loans, IRAs, certificates, debit and credit cards, online banking, and cashier's checks.
• Balance cash drawer every 2 hours, and end of the shift and compare totaled amounts to computer generated proof sheet. Research and resolve discrepancies. Report any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary.
• Ensure that the teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies, brochures, etc.
• Report malfunctions of teller computers and other equipment used at the teller station.
• Check night depository drop and record proper information according to credit union procedures.
• Process member mail transactions.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
