What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coach, Assistant Girls Wrestling Coach position at Southwest High School?
Lincoln Southwest High School is seeking a dynamic individual as an assistant wrestling coach to provide support for athletes in the Lincoln Northwest Girls Wrestling program. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required as well as the desire and ability to develop positive relationships with student-participants, families, and the LPS community. Must have comprehensive knowledge and experience with Girls' Wrestling to help develop the school’s program.
LPS assistant coaches are expected to follow the guidance of their head coaches in organizing and leading practices, regular season and district contests and performances (not to exceed NSAA/LPS allowances); facilitate, manage and provide oversight of the program; maintain required certification and requirements of the position; and lead their teams in NSAA state championship preparation and performances if the team or individuals qualify.
LPS has a long tradition of academic, athletic, and activity excellence. Belief in the value of education-based athletics is critical.
Requires a teacher and/or coach who holds a Nebraska Department of Education Teacher or Administrative Certificate or a Nebraska Department of Education Special Services Coaching Permit.
Knowledge and understanding of NSAA and LPS policies and bylaws are required.
