In this role:
An Adapt shop intern will be responsible for assisting in the daily activities at the shop including but not limited to welcoming families and children, playing with children, previewing and learning medical terminology associated with each case, learning and helping to maintain adaptive equipment, helping to clean and prepare for sessions. Interest in learning the basics of body mechanics and therapeutic principles.
The ideal candidate will have experience and/or an interest in learning our digitally assisted production workflow, including component design and machine programming in Fusion 360, as well as 3D printing via Bambu Studio. Additionally, our fabrications require significant hand-assembly of the digitally fabricated parts, so the ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of basic physics/mechanics as well as the use of basic hand tools.
This internship can be shaped around a student's interests as communicated through the initial interview.
The intern will keep an hour's log verified by the ADAPT Shop staff every 2 weeks.
Salary : $14 - $19
