BOARD CERTIFIED BEHAVIOR ANALYST (BCBA)
Reports to: Director of Student Services
Job Objective: Performs behavior analytic services for students with behavioral, emotional and social skill deficits.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Holds/maintains valid Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification and appropriate Ohio Department of Education credentials.
- Adheres to the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts and the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators.
- Disciplined self-starter. Exhibits, high energy, initiative, reliability and strong interpersonal skills.
- Documents/maintains a record free of criminal violations that prohibit public school employment.
Note: Additional specific training may be required (e.g., blood borne pathogen, child abuse/neglect, communicable disease, CPR, first aid/injury prevention, nonviolent crisis intervention, etc.).
Essential Functions:
1. Develops programming and staff support systems that sustain orderly, responsive, safe, supportive learning environments and produce positive outcomes for students.
- Provides leadership for the advancement of best practices and academic standards. Implements initiatives that support continuous improvement in student participation and achievement.
- Communicates complex academic, behavioral and social skill information to administrators, parents/guardians, teachers, etc., in easy to understand language.
- Collaborates with staff to identify effective, research-based instructional and behavioral intervention strategies. Encourages active family participation in collaborative intervention planning.
- Helps stakeholders understand how intervention activities relate to the educational program.
- Provides instruction and support to help staff with data collection. Evaluates classroom organization, structure and instructional factors that may impact intervention efficacy. Coordinates the development of Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavioral Intervention Plans.
- Identifies assessment, environmental and instructional accommodations as warranted.
- Provides intensive one-on-one staff consultations as needed to address specific behavioral issues.
- Helps students acquire skills to enhance appropriate behavior (e.g., self-regulation skills, functional communication, social skills, etc.).
- Monitors student progress. Tracks and profiles student growth in response to intervention services.
- Advocates for students. Promotes inclusive educational opportunities for all students.
- Helps students make appropriate choices and improve personal skills. Encourages creativity, critical-thinking, cultural awareness, democratic values, empathy, ethical behavior and self-reliance.
- Provides Leadership for the advancement of best practices in the area of PBIS, Social Emotional, and Whole Child learning
- Judiciously manages district resources. Upholds fiscal accountability standards.
- Implements health and safety protocols to mitigate risks associated with program activities.
2. Diligently attends to job details. Pursues quality results. Performs all aspects of the job.

- Protects district property. Takes precautions to prevent the loss of equipment and supplies.
- Takes action to address harassment and/or aggressive behavior. Complies with all legal statutes when dealing with discrimination, inappropriate behavior or suspected child abuse/neglect.
- Upholds high standards for proper conduct. Implements effective pupil management procedures. Uses positive behavioral support techniques to address disruptive student behavior.
6. Performs other specific job-related duties as directed.
