    Description:
    1.0 FTE CTE Coordinator, 260 Days, Year Round. This position will support Career and Technical Education programs District-Wide.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    Under the leadership and support of the Executive Director of Teaching & Learning, the primary responsibility of this job is to assist and coordinate Career & Technical Education programs; work collaboratively to provide high-quality educational programs for all students; support program operations; assist in instructional leadership including onboarding and ongoing coaching and support for new CTE staff; assist in student behavior management; and support the coaching and/or supervision of staff within the program.

    Instructional and Program Leadership:

    • Provide for system alignment, coherence, and articulation, including ongoing and structural regional or local partnerships with postsecondary education institutions;
    • Be a liaison to community and work-force organizations;
    • Arrange and direct professional development for CTE staff;
    • Foster collaboration among teachers, administrators, program leaders, and school counselors to create a cohesive educational experience for students;
    • Collaborate with consortium members;
    • Monitor present course offerings for applicability to future job markets and build CTE programs of study;
    • Work to create industry-recognized credentials, certificates, and appropriate post-secondary education or employment pathways;
    • Make recommendations for long-term adjustments, changes, additions, and deletions in the CTE programs to meet changing job trends and labor market needs;
    • Assist in the evaluation and selection of CTE course materials and resources;
    • Report data, as a program participation requirement to allow for an evaluation of the program;
    • Create plans to meet the data reporting requirements outlined as part of any grant criteria;
    • Promote the CTE program through outreach, marketing, and communications.
    Student Management:
    • Recruit students for available CTE programs;
    • Ensure student behavior aligns with school standards and district policies;
    • Ensure a safe learning environment by consistently monitoring safety procedures;
    • Address transportation concerns and issues as needed;
    • Support opportunities for students to participate in after-school, extended day, and out-of-school internships, competitions, and other work-based learning opportunities;
    • Understand and apply special education policies, including Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), to support student behavior management;
    • Monitor student attendance, collaborate with staff and county officials, and implement attendance plans as needed;
    • Utilize student performance data and educator feedback to inform instructional practices;
    • Analyze student assessment and program evaluation results to improve instruction and student achievement;
    • Coordinate the development and implementation of effective assessment systems and data collection processes to track student progress.
    Communications:
    • Communicate with staff, students, parents, and community partners, in a timely and effective manner;
    • Provide updates on school activities, concerns, and progress;
    • Encourage parental involvement in student education and maintain strong communication with families;
    • Share new developments in curriculum and innovative instructional programs to support student achievement.
    Staffing and Human Resources:
    • Support the coaching, supervision, and evaluation of licensed and non-licensed staff;
    • Assist administrators in evaluating teaching staff and other employees, identifying areas for growth, and making recommendations for continued employment;
    • Offer individualized coaching to teachers based on classroom observations and data analysis;
    • Assist in recruiting and selecting certified and classified personnel.
    Other Duties:
    • Continue professional development through seminars, workshops, research, and professional meetings;
    • Collaborate with district leadership to manage budgetary and financial operations in alignment with district policies;
    • Support district and school operations as needed;
    • Assist in developing and managing state and federal grant proposals and budgets related to CTE.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Experience working with Career and Technical Education programs.
    • MN Department of Education District Administrators license or ability to obtain one.
    • Enrolled and within one year of completing, or completed a Minnesota State Certification as a Principal and/or Local Vocational Program Director license.
    • Current Minnesota Teaching License in a Career or Technical Education pathway.
    • Motor Vehicle operator's license or ability to provide own transportation to different worksites.
    • Sixth year, doctorate, or other planned program in curriculum and instruction or educational leadership preferred.
    • Successful experience in researching and implementing practices related to instruction, curriculum development, professional development and supervision.
    • Successful leadership experience in designing and implementing effective instructional programs and coaching, mentoring and training staff/personnel, preferable in more than one capacity.
    • Demonstrated understanding, promotion and support of culturally responsive teaching and behavior management practices.
    • Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiating instruction based upon student learning styles.
    • Knowledge of K-12 school curriculum and concepts in multiple areas, including regular and special education, as well as elementary, middle and high school levels.
    • Knowledge of best practices in administration, program evaluation and staff supervision.
    • Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
    • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education, special education, individuals with disabilities, etc.
    • Ability to direct the on-going instructional programs for the District, providing for innovative programs and modifications to improve the quality of instruction.
    • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate projects, work and training related to the implementation and supervision of the K-12 instructional programs for the District.
    • Ability to apply contemporary curriculum frameworks and current national and state standards for student learning.
    • Ability to prepare oral or written communications, such as presentations, reports, memoranda, letters, grant proposals, curriculum documents, etc.
    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, parents, community and others contacted in the course of work.
    • Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
    • Ability to organize multiple tasks and conflicting time constraints.
    • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to leadership, performance and professional growth.
    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

    Pay & Benefits:
