Description :
School Social Worker, 8 hours a day for 185 Contract Days.
Provides direct and indirect social work services to students, as indicated on students' Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Works as a member of an interdisciplinary team to provide mental health assessments, services, resources, and referrals. Services are designed to improve social skills, assist with problem-solving, provide behavior management skills, and understand how mental health issues impact students' education. All the students have IEP's.
Pay & Benefits :
Starting pay for 24-25 School Year is $48,076 based on education and experience. Competitive and comprehensive benefits package available.
Job Summary :
Provide support by working directly with students to increase their academic, social / behavioral, communication, and study skills under the direction of the teacher(s).
Qualifications :
- School Social Work License
- Ability to build successful relationships with students, parents and staff.
- Training in Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) and Restrictive Procedures is required and provided by the District.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams.
- Knowledge and experience providing direct social work service to special education students, as outlined in the Individual Education Plan.
- Ability to provide direct social / emotional / mental health services, individual and group, to students.
- Family engagement skills; knowledge of family systems theory.
- Conflict mediation, crisis management skills
- Ability to perform assessments for mental health, and crisis.
