Position Summary
The Child Evaluation Center (CEC) is a program of the Southwest Montana Community Health Center. This position is responsible for coordinating tasks associated with the CEC such as: scheduling forensic interviews and medical exams with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), families, initial contact with families during a forensic interview, completing paperwork and explaining the process of the forensic interview. This individual provides families and victims with information about the criminal justice system, their case, and referrals to resources throughout the life of their case. This position is 8:00-5:00 Monday through Friday with some flexibility and ability to work from home. The CEC is primarily staffed by one individual with support from other positions within the clinic and the Multi-Disciplinary Team. This position will coordinate Silver Bow and Deer Lodge Counties.
Position Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Social Work or a Social Services-related field.
License: Valid Montana Driver’s License in good standing.
Experience: At least 2 years’ experience in case management or child protection.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions
General office/clinic conditions are pleasant; good, clean working conditions where accidents and hazards are negligible; requires short periods of moderate lifting, pushing or pulling objects up to twenty pounds. Clear diction and acute hearing are necessary for effective communication with the staff and the public.
The position is based in the Butte and requires occasional travel to Anaconda. Company cars are available, however the use of a personal vehicle may be necessary occasionally.

- Learns and follows the Standards for Accreditation for a National Children’s Advocacy Center
- Ensure the documentation for training is appropriately filed
- Communications training required for MDT members and CHC staff
- Registers participants in required training courses and coordinates travel/training needs
- Schedules peer review for forensic interviewers and uploads cases to My Case Review for Medical Peer Review
- Create and file agenda and sign sheet for Forensic Interview Peer Review
- Schedule forensic interviews and forensic medical exams for team members and families
- Schedules and attends MDT Case Review for Silver Bow and Deer Lodge Counties
- Communicate the dates/times of meetings using Outlook Calendar
- Set up for MDT meetings
- Prepare, print, and file Confidentiality Sign In Forms
- Prepare, print, and shred the agenda for MDT meetings/case review
- Participate in the Outcome Measurement System survey system at least annually
- Uses evidence-based best practices for responding to child victims of crime
- Must possess technology skills including use of Microsoft products, telehealth equipment, recording equipment and more
- Provides education and information to the victim and to the non-offending caregiver including information about the forensic interview process
- Assists the non-offending caregiver or guardian in completing consents for the forensic interview and/or medical exam
- Provides general information about the criminal justice process, the child protective services process, and the functions of the MDT
- Educates the non-offending caregivers on the dynamics of abuse and provides information and treatment referrals as needed
- Conducts follow-up contact with the victim and/or non-offending caregiver at minimum intervals of one-week post-interview and one-month post-interview depending on the life of the case and/or as needed by the family
- Updates the MDT of victim’s status as appropriate
- Documents follow-up in NCATrak
- Remains available to the non-offending caregiver as a liaison to the MDT by providing information to the victim and non-offending caregiver(s) regarding possible charges, court preparation, educational resources and/or any other general information
- Enter log of referral and the disposition/outcome; to include tracking the start of cases through adjudicated and/or closed to services in NCATrak
- Connect children and non-offending caregiver(s) to needed resources such as Restraining Orders, therapy, medical, Victim Compensation, and assistance in obtaining other needed services
- Provide statistics from NCATrak to the NCA or Children’s Alliance of Montana (CAM) as requested
- Assist in providing prevention education and awareness training within the local and regional communities
- Maintain a high level of professional excellence and credible reputation among the various constituent organizations involved in the MDT
- Maintain log of sexual assault kits on DOJ website
- Other duties as assigned
