Overview The Market Analyst Intern is responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing efficiencies in market processes, and initiative data tracking and reporting. The Market Analyst intern will develop an understanding of SPP stakeholder processes, including but not limited to the Revision Request (RR) process, protocol management process, and the strategic initiative request process.
Planning and organizational skills are required. The Market Analyst intern will develop a familiarity with SPP governing documents. The Market Analyst Intern will work closely with SPP Markets, Legal, and Regulatory in developing process improvements. Essential Functions
- Identify and recommend changes to Market processes and data tracking and reporting processes
- Develop a high level of familiarity with relevant market and operations tools
- Research and analyze the design of other RTO / ISO market processes
- Understanding of and compliance with SPP Policies and Procedures
- Education Requirements :
- A college student entering their senior year working towards a bachelor’s degree in a data analytics related field, Engineering, Economics, Computer Science, or other business-related degree. Experience Requirements :
- No experience required Preferred :
- 3.0 GPA or above preferred
- Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, and PPT.
- Financial, analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with any of the following could be utilized : SQL, SAS, Groovy, Java, Linux, Tableau, Oracle, Mongo
- Ability to communicate effectively with settlement analysts, accountants, engineers, management and senior management.
This communication, both written and oral, is for the purposes of requests, analysis, coordination, guidance and presentations
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Physical and Mental Demands :
Days and hours of workweek are Monday through Friday; 8 : 00 a.m.
