Who We Are:
We are the Petroleum Products Research Department in the Fuels and Lubricants Division! We perform laboratory testing on an assortment of fuels and lubricants from different types of vehicles and engines.
Objectives of this Role:
- Assume project management and business development responsibilities according to the requirements of the Petroleum Products Research Department.
- Provide technical support to both internal and external client test requests.
- Continuous learning, education, and professional development.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Understand and meet client needs for engine oil, ATF, and other testing, answer technical questions regarding modified test conditions, and new testing.
- Will work with Supervisors and Technicians to create effective solutions to Lab issues.
- Support the PPRD Quality, Safety, and Environmental Management Programs, and participate in promotional efforts through memberships in professional organizations and technical presentations.
- Participate in ASTM committees.
- Will comply with all safety rules.
- Work with the Administrative Group to ensure that client test requests are scheduled and reports are completed in a timely manner.
- Prepare, present and follow up on research proposals.
- Reviews, validates, and initiates reruns of sample results for clients.
- Plans, designs, coordinates, and controls the progress of project work to meet client objectives.
- Organizes and directs project activities and coordinates efforts of the project team.
- Assumes responsibility for technical, financial, and project completion goals.
- Provide recommendations to management on ways to improve planning, program development, and project and promotional efforts.
- Will exercise considerable latitude in determining methods and approaches to complex issues.
- Will perform other duties as required.
Requirements:
- Requires a Bachelors degree in Chemistry.
- Shift work required.
- 0-5 years: Oil and gas, petroleum, chemical, pharmaceutical or related industry experience.
- 0-5 years: Must have strong interpersonal skills in working with co-workers. Must have a work history of good working relationships with clients. Preferred to have the ability to motivate team members and must practice good team-building principles.
- 0-5 years: The successful candidate must have a proven record of a maturity of technical expertise in developing and leading projects, assuming responsibility for technical efforts and growth of others, and developing creative, innovative solutions to problems.
- Must have strong communication skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Knowledge of test procedures in the petroleum industry is preferred. Must be able to adjust his work schedule to work other shifts if necessary.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
