Objectives of this Role :
- Maryland Office Security point of contact for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and supervision of operations for Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF).
- Ensures accreditation documentation is available for SCIFs and maintains Intrusion Detection Systems.
- Ensures SCI is properly accounted for, controlled, transmitted, transported, packaged, and safeguarded.
- Ensures SCI is destroyed by authorized means and in accordance with applicable government directives.
- Ensures SCI is disseminated only to persons authorized access.
- Serves as the official channel for certifying, receiving / sending SCI visitor clearances and accesses.
- Coordinates all facility maintenance projects and performs escort duties for both cleared and uncleared visitors.
- Investigates security infractions, makes recommendations and prepares required reports.
- Respond to and work with government security officers / inspectors during inquiries and / or inspections involving classified matters and secure facility requirements.
- Conduct inventories and investigates any shortfalls involving classified material.
- Create and update classified inventory database.
- Complete additional work assignments / tasks as assigned by the Division Security Manager and / or Department Director.
