Role
Objectives of this Role:
- Look up and wire up electrical equipment safely.
- Able to handle up to 480 VAC safely.
- Ability to specify appropriate wire gauze, fuse size, and wiring connections
- Look up and wire up controls equipment safely.
- Able to handle delicate instruments at low voltages, specify signal type, fuse size, excitation power, and connections properly.
- Complete design and mechanical buildup of control cabinets and cable support (drilling, mounting, etc.) with power tools.
- Document work in the field (labels) and electronically (logs and spreadsheets).
- Program in PLC control systems such as DeltaV, Allen Bradley, iFix, DaqFactory.
- Use specialized equipment like voltmeter and signal generator to troubleshoot electrical issues.
- Work with controls engineers to set or modify signal parameters.
- Work order creation to ensure understanding of the job and safe working conditions.
- Ability to assess the situation and work safely around electronics and chemicals.
- Installation requiring specialized tools and equipment.
- Ability to research or contact vendors to figure out and properly utilize new and existing equipment.
- Documentation of as built or as modified wiring connections.
- Documentation of troubleshooting strategies and solutions.
- Requires knowledge in outlook, excel, word, OneNote, teams.
- Maintenance and repair that require specialized tools and equipment as well as consulting manuals and customer support.
- PLC troubleshooting that requires understanding of PLC programming and hardware interfacing.
- Provide designs, recommendations, or custom solutions for builds, modifications, and/or repairs.
- Provide feedback on improving existing infrastructure.
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent or a Associates degree.
- Associates in Instrumentation, Process Controls, Equipment Power or related degree is preferred.
- Shift work 24/7 will be required.
- 2-4 years: Hands on experience working with electrical systems such fabrication, maintenance, repair, management of AC/DC power and/or PLC controls.
- 2-4 years: Computer experience with Teams, Excel, Word, OneNote.
- A valid/clear driver's license is required.
