Objectives of this Role:
- Perform R&D utilizing additive manufacturing techniques to fabricate microchannel plates.
- Perform fundamental research utilizing nano and micro-scale stereolithography to improve photodetector and remote sensing instrument performance.
- Local year round student.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Work with a custom 3D printer fabricating microcapillary arrays, including mixing specialized photoresist, establishing post-processing procedures, and evaluating resulting structures (SEM, AFM, profilometry, etc.)
- Work in a cleanroom environment with ultra-high vacuum equipment.
- Meet regularly to discuss progress and integrate with the rest of the team.
Requirements:
- Must be pursuing a Bachelors degree in Engineering Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics or directly related degree field.
- 2-3 years: Within the related undergraduate degree program.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office).
- Basic programming skills (Python, Matlab etc.).
