What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service and Maintenance position at Southwest Self Storage?
About the Position:
As a Customer Service/Maintenance Representative, you will take the lead on ensuring that all our customers and tenants have an excellent experience from the moment they inquire about storage to when they move out. In this position you will work closely with other facility staff and report to the Facility Manager, but you should also be comfortable working alone with little supervision. You will be successful if you enjoy taking a hands-on approach and take initiative to get things done. You will be responsible for the day to day activities of the store, including assisting customer, conducting property tours, explaining lease agreements, general office duties, maintaining the appearance and upkeep of the property and ensuring units are rent ready. Maintenance duties will be required, such as sweeping units, pulling weeds, cleaning trash and debris around the property, painting, etc.
Full-time: 30-40 hours a week
Schedule:
Maintenance: Friday 8:00 am-2:30 pm
Maintenance: Saturday 8:00 am-2:30 pm
Office : Sunday 10:00am- 4:00 pm
Office : Monday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
Maintenance: Tuesday 8:00 am-2:30 pm
Locations: Indio, CA
What You Will Do:
Property Janitorial and Maintenance
· Ensure safety and security of the property by conducting daily walk throughs and lock checks.
· Perform unit turnover procedures to ensure that units are clean, in working order, and rent ready.
· Maintain physical condition and appearance of the property and outside perimeter by sweeping and mopping hallways, cleaning trash and debris around the property, ensuring property fixtures are in working condition, and light landscaping.
· Other maintenance duties.
Office and Customer Service
· Cultivate leads and inquiries by determining customer needs, making recommendations, and discussing features, amenities, sizes, and pricing.
· Manage customer accounts and resolve customer complaints, concerns, and inquiries in a timely manner.
· Conduct property tours and employ sales techniques to show the value of our services
· Build effective relationships and trust with customers and potential customers by listening to their needs and educating them about the storage sizes, products, and services that are most appropriate to their situation.
· Opening and closing of the office, including generating reports, cash drawer reconciliation, and ensuring office is clean and presentable.
· General office duties, including filing, e-mail correspondence, data entry, answering phones, etc.
Your Qualifications:
· Minimum 1 years’ experience in a customer service or office setting
· Minimum 1 years’ experience in a maintenance or janitorial setting.
· Bilingual a plus
· Excellent customer service skills.
· Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities.
· Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
· Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
· Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
· Prior self-storage experience a plus but not required
· And most importantly, you have a positive attitude and a strong desire to learn and grow
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
· Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
· Continually required to talk or hear
· Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard
· Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items up to 50 pounds
· Frequent exposure to outside weather conditions
