Summary
Southwest Strategies Group is seeking a full-time Contracts Manager to join our team. The Contracts Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, tracking, execution, and administration of contracts and associated contract documents (change orders, task orders, COIs, business licenses, etc.) for clients, vendors and partners. This role ensures contractual compliance, mitigates risk, and aligns agreements with company policies and industry regulations. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, legal acumen, and experience managing government contracts with local and state agencies, as well as managing contracts in public outreach, public affairs, communications or government relations.

Position:
This position is based at our headquarters in San Diego, CA (Del Mar Heights neighborhood). This is primarily an on-site role, with a minimum of 3 days in the office (Tuesday/Wednesday required and a third day to be confirmed by the employee/manager).
Salary Range: $95,000-$110,000 (dependent on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, ensuring agreements align with business objectives while mitigating risks
- Draft, review, and negotiate client agreements, vendor contracts and other legal documents
- Ensure all contracts comply with legal, financial and regulatory requirements, mitigating risks for the company
- Tracking and managing compliance requirements throughout the lifespan of the contracts
- Manage the library and version control for client agreements, ensuring accurate documentation, organization and access for internal stakeholders
- Efficiently manage and track contracts, including approvals routing, signatures and archiving
- Develop and maintain contract database and ensure accurate and up-to-date contract records
- Provide training and guidance to internal teams on contract management processes and procedures
- Track and manage contract renewals and other key milestone timelines within the contract
- Work closely with finance team to monitor contract budgets, invoicing and payment terms, and profitability
- Develop and maintain best practices for contract workflows, tracking systems and reporting
- Coordinate with internal teams (account managers, legal counsel and finance) to align contract terms with business objectives
- Manage contract renewals, amendments and terminations as needed
- Stay updated on policies affecting public affairs, communications and government contracts
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Finance or a related field; or formal education (ex. Associate’s Degree) in contract management or paralegal certification strongly preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in contract management, legal administration or procurement (preferably in public outreach, public affairs, government relations or marketing/communications firms)
- Strong understanding of contract law, risk management and compliance
- Experience with Monday.com preferred
- Excellent organization, project management, communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience working with government or municipal contracts is required
Salary : $95,000 - $110,000
