Cybersecurity and Network Administration Adjunct

Southwest Tech is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor(s) to teach the current Cybersecurity and Network Administration degree.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach courses such as Hardware/Software Fundamentals, Introduction to Security, and other related subjects.
• Develop and implement effective lesson plans to meet student learning objectives.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or related field.
• Professional certifications in cybersecurity and network administration.
• Experience teaching adult learners.

Instructional Strategies

Instructors are expected to use a variety of teaching methods, including lectures, discussions, and hands-on activities. They must be able to adapt their instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and provide feedback to students on their progress.

Learning Environment

The instructor will be responsible for creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement. This includes setting clear expectations, using respectful language, and promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity.

Candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and external partners. They must also be proficient in using technology, including learning management systems, online platforms, and digital tools.

Term and Schedule

This is a part-time position, with classes taught on a semester basis. Instructors will be required to teach a minimum of 12 credits per semester and may be asked to teach additional courses based on program needs.
