Job Summary
This is a part-time, grant-funded fiscal year staff position. We are seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to coordinate and operate our Southwest Health Careers Express. This role involves conducting outreach, managing logistics, driving the mobile lab, and delivering engaging educational experiences to children and young people at community events, schools, and partner organizations.
Job Duties
Program delivery and engagement:
Facilitate interactive healthcare career exploration stations for students (K-12)
Deliver mini learning sessions, leads hands-on activities across multiple healthcare themed stations
Create a welcoming an inclusive environment that fosters curiosity and learning
Outreach and scheduling:
Coordinate with schools, community organizations, and event planners to schedule visits
Promote the lab’s offerings through community outreach and engagement initiatives
Logistics and Operations:
Drive the Mobile Healthcare Exploration Lab to and from events
Set up and break down learning stations, ensuring all materials and equipment are organized and functional
Maintain a clean and safe environment within the lab
Reporting and Documentation:
Track attendance, student engagement, and learning outcomes
Submit monthly reports detailing program activities, success and challenges
Presents ideas for improvement
Minimum Qualifications
Practical experience in health care (various fields may be applicable)
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
Previous teaching or educational experience
Background in community advocacy and public outreach
Familiarity with hands-on, interactive learning modalities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule and produce desired results
Strong organizational skills
Strong communication skills
