Job Summary: Teach health-related courses, including Patient Care Technician (PCT), Nurse Aid,
Phlebotomy, EKG, and Medical Assistant; supervise students in a clinical setting; teach courses in high
school and community settings; develop, revise, implement, and evaluate curriculum; evaluate student
progress. Must be able to lift 25 pounds and sit or stand for long periods of time. Work rules, code of
conduct, and other policies comprise essential functions of the job. Possess the ability to communicate
effectively with students and college personnel.
Classification: Full-time, Exempt
Department: Patient Care Technician
Salary: Allied Health Schedule. Commensurate with education and experience; 10-month position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Must hold a current Texas license to practice nursing in the state of Texas. Demonstrate current
knowledge of safety procedures in a clinical setting. All qualifying educational degrees must be from an
accredited college or university.
Experience & Training: Must be able to certify in Phlebotomy, EKG, Medical Assistant, and Patient Care
Technician Assistant within one year of hire. Various nursing experience and teaching experience preferred.
Candidate must possess computer skills. Actively employed in nursing for the past three years. Experience
using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
Additional Qualification Requirements: Must be able to demonstrate experience working effectively with
individuals from diverse backgrounds. Must have excellent English, writing, and oral communication skills.
Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate,
with or without reasonable accommodation, the essential functions of the job. The candidate must be
authorized to work in the U.S., provide verifiable credentials, and successfully complete the background
checks specified for the position. Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable through SWTX insurers.
Travel is required to other locations served by the college.
