Job Summary: Instruct Powerline classes as assigned by the college; actively recruit students and assist
with job placement; maintain class attendance records; perform routine safety and equipment checks to
ensure safe/proper operation. Reports to the Dean of Applied Sciences & Workforce Education and to the
Director of Workforce Training and Development.
Classification: Full-time, Exempt
Department: Workforce Training and Education, Powerline Technology
Salary: Salary based on qualifications and training.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Certificate or Associates preferred.
Experience & Training: Experience in all aspects of Powerline skills and abilities required; tractor-trailer
driving and powerline equipment operation experience required; candidate must hold valid Class A CDL.
Ability to communicate and work effectively with students/college personnel.
Additional Qualification Requirements: Class A-CDL License required; must pass a road test and
demonstrate driving skills. Must have ability to work with little direct supervision. Ability to plan, organize,
disseminate information within parameters of the job description. Responsible for care of equipment and all
training aids. Ability to identify student needs, organize appropriate teaching plans, evaluate progress and
take corrective action. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S.
and must provide verifiable credentials; successful completion of reference and background check specified
for the position. Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable through SWTX insurers. Travel
required to other geographic locations served by the college.
