What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intensive Special Needs Specialist - Now through the end of the school year position at Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union?
Duties (include but are not limited to): Provide academic, behavioral, and transition support to students during all school activities. Work with individual students or groups to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher. Implement social skills instruction, behavior plans and intervention plans for students with behavior disorders or other special conditions for the purpose of improving academics, adaptive, social and/or communication skills. Communicate regularly with teacher and/or administrator regarding student progress.
Record data as prescribed to track student progress on IEP goals, objectives, behavior and intervention plans. - Experience with vision impairments preferred, but willing to train.
