Job Description: Local Probation Officers shall: screen, interview, and accept appropriate referrals from the Court. Supervise probationers. Maintain case files. Arrange needed services such as Substance Abuse Counseling, Mental Health Counseling, Community Service, etc. Monitors probationer progress in meeting conditions of behavioral plans. Report progress to the Courts. Maintain working relationships with the Courts, criminal justice personnel, and service providers. Participate in scheduled meetings, trainings, and developmental programs as required. Looking to hire one officer.
Salary: $40,000 - $45,000 with family insurance coverage.
Qualifications: Associates Degree from an accredited college in criminology, psychology, sociology, or other related field. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Knowledge of the criminal justice system. Proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Office/data entry. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Valid driver’s license. Background check required.
