Job Description: Pretrial Investigators responsible for screening defendants booked in to Regional Jail awaiting trial. Makes recommendations to the court, identifying pretrial detainees that qualify for Pretrial release. Conducts background investigations and interview defendants. Monitor and supervise defendants released to the Pretrial Program. Initiate court action of any misconduct. Ensure defendants released into community before trial commit no crime while awaiting trial. Perform intake services.
Salary: $40,000 - $45,000, with insurance coverage.
Qualifications: Associates Degree from an accredited college in criminology, psychology, sociology, or other related field. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Knowledge of the criminal justice system. Proficiency in the use of computers and Microsoft Office/data entry. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Valid driver’s license. Background check required.
