What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Counselor - Long-Term Substitute position at Southwestern Central?
Minimum Criteria:
- Hold a valid NYS counseling certificate in tenure area;
- Preference given to a licensed Mental Health Counselor under NYS guidelines permitting Medicaid reimbursement;
- Possess a thorough knowledge in field;
- Demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm and good judgment;
- Demonstrate the ability to plan and organize for effective teaching and learning;
- Understand the nature and needs of the age group served;
- Able to develop and maintain productive human relationships;
- Previous experience in working with high school-age children is desirable;
- Demonstrate knowledge in the areas of counseling theories and techniques, intervention strategies, crisis management and behavioral assessment.
