What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fort Riley Admissions Counselor position at Southwestern College?
Southwestern College’s online program seeks an Admissions Counselor/Recruiter to recruit and enroll undergraduate, graduate, and certificate learners into our Global online and main campus programs. The right candidate will establish and maintain a highly effective communications process to build partnerships with Fort Riley Education Services Office, Fort Riley Garrison Command, community colleges, military and civilian personnel, and other institutions in the Fort Riley Education Community. In addition, the right candidate will communicate effectively with the Southwestern College Admissions Staff to help coordinate recruiting and enrollment efforts in the Manhattan/Junction City region. The work will require a person who is a self-starter and can handle multiple priorities while keeping a focus on how to enroll and graduate military and civilian learners who come to SC Professional Studies via Fort Riley and area community colleges, as well as supporting main campus traditional enrollment efforts in the Junction City/Manhattan areas. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with benefits.
Required:
- Excellent computer skills including use of Microsoft Office suite, student information systems, and Salesforce
- Ability to work and communicate well with a variety of people
- High degree of personal accountability and integrity
- Excellent multi-tasking capacity and strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated caring for learners from varied backgrounds and in varied situations, particularly military and non-traditional learners
- Ability to travel for some evenings (including overnights) and weekends for work
Strongly preferred:
- Military background
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)
- Previous Higher Ed experience
